Wayne County Benefit Horse Show approaches
HONESDALE, PA The eighth annual Wayne County Benefit Horse Show will take place Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The Wayne County Benefit Horse Show Committee is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting horses as assets to the community. The committee preserves the spirit of horsemanship in Wayne County through this benefit show and donates the proceeds to several non-profit community service organizations. In the past seven years, the Benefit Horse Show has donated over $54,000 to selected beneficiaries.
This year, the two-day event will again offer classes for competition in English, Western, Gymkhana, and Driving disciplines, including several handsome stake classes. Traditional ribbons will be awarded along with first-place and championship prizes. Concessions will benefit the Wayne County 4-H Teen Council and their Community Service Projects. For a class schedule and prize lists, call 570/698-6032 or 570/905-6456.
As part of her Senior Class Project, Wayne County 4-H Highstepper member Hillary Mikulak will organize sponsorships for the show committee. Classes may be sponsored at a rate of $30 per class. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsorships are also available for $50, $75, $100, and $150 or over respectively. Fellow 4-H Horse Club members have been challenged to collect sponsorships, and the member raising the most money or the greatest number of sponsorships will be awarded a $50 ride certificate for the show or a check in the amount of $50.
