BETHEL, NY — Harvest season is upon us, and with it the annual Harvest Festival at Bethel woods, returning for its ninth season. Having evolved from a Sunday Farmers’ Market to a full-fledged celebration complete with live musical and theatrical performances, book signings, corn and hay mazes, pony rides and more, the Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods now attracts over 4,500 visitors a weekend.

Each week offers a new theme, beginning with the traditional Wine Festival this weekend and concluding with the popular Chili Day, featuring a chili cook-off between area fire departments, in October. And every week vendors will offer fresh local and regional produce, baked goods and artisan cheeses, and the Craft Village will feature unique items by area artisans.

This weekend, the guest musical entertainers will be Erin and John Slaver and For the Love of Music. There will be a book signing with local author Joe Freda (“The Patience of Rivers.”)

Subsequent weekends will feature an Alpaca Festival (Sunday, September 2), a Mountain Music Festival (Sunday, September 9), Rustic for the Home (Sunday, September 16), Cajun Festival (Sunday, September 23), Earth Day in Autumn (Sunday, September 30), and Chili Day in October (Sunday, October 7).
