‘Footloose’ featured at Forestburgh

FORESTBURGH, NY — “Footloose,” a musical based on the 1980s movie starring Kevin Bacon, is the current production at the Forestburgh Playhouse. It tells the story of city boy Ren, who has to move to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned. All hell breaks out as Ren breaks loose and soon has the whole town on its feet.

Featuring a dynamic young cast, this fast-paced show is not only packed full of amazing dance but serves up some classic ‘80s hits, including “Holding Out For a Hero,” “Almost Paradise,” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” and the title track, “Footloose. “

The show will run through Sunday, August 19, with performances at 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and a Sunday matinee at 3:00 p.m. Tickets cost $34 or $39 for evening performances and $28 for matinees.
