Pike library summer winds up with mayhem and magic

MILFORD, PA — The 2007 “Get a Clue” summer reading programs will wrap up at Pike County Public Library (PCPL) on Thursday, August 9. The “Murder, Mayhem, and Mystery” end-of-summer party, sponsored by the Friends of the Children’s Room, will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford Branch of PCPL. The fun-filled evening will include a talent show and games and prizes for all ages. Bring a lawn seat or blanket. Come dressed as your favorite detective character. Please bring a snack food or juice to share. In case of rain, the event will be held at the Ann Street School/Milford United Methodist Church on East Ann Street.

In another August event, J.K. Rowling’s final book of the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which has just been released, the Friends of the Children’s Room of Pike County Public Library will hold a Harry Potter book discussion on Tuesday, August 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Milford Branch of PCPL. The book discussion is open to any Muggle who has read the Harry Potter series and would like to talk about the books with other Potter fans.

The Friends of the Children’s Room is a not-for-profit organization of teens working with Pike County Public Library to enhance the children’s programs and resources at the library.
