RiverFest makes a splash—again

NARROWSBURG, NY — Picture-perfect summer weather brought a steady stream of visitors to Narrowsburg on July 22 for 17th annual RiverFest. Elaine Giguere, executive director of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, which sponsors the event, said customers were buying right up until the end of the day, a sign of success.

She said the shop owners she spoke with, for the most part, were very pleased with the day.

The crowd was estimated at between 4,000 and 5,000 people.

The poster auction, which is one of the most anticipated events of the day, brought in close to $10,000. That’s not quite the record of $12,000 but still a significant amount. The first poster sale brought in just $1,200.

Giguere said that, despite the large amount of work that goes into preparing for the event, there will definitely be another RiverFest next summer.
