Bethel School to hold open house

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Wayne County Historical Society (WCHS) will hold a free open house at Bethel School, one of the best-preserved one-room schools in the area, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. There will also be a special presentation at 2:00 p.m., with Todd Miller leading an old-fashioned “geography bee,” followed by cookies and punch. Miller has been a social studies teacher at Honesdale High School since 1986, and chair of the social studies department since 1989.

Volunteers from WCHS run educational programs each summer at the historic one-room school, built about 1870, through an agreement with the Wayne County Commissioners.

To get to Bethel School from Route 6 in Indian Orchard, take Route 652 east for one mile, then turn right onto Bethel School Road. Go one mile and the school is on your left.
