17th annual RiverFest flows into Narrowsburg this Sunday

New features include photo booth and Riverbucks

NARROWSBURG, NY — It’s one of the area’s premiere festivals. And it’s happening this weekend.

The 17th Annual RiverFest, sponsored by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), will be held on Sunday, July 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Main Street. Elaine Giguere, the executive director of the DVAA, describes the event as a music, art and environmental festival, celebrating the Delaware River and the eco-system that supports it.

This year, the festival includes an expanded line-up of live music, dozens of crafts booths, information about the Delaware River and environment, a Kids Corner where kids can create their own arts and crafts, the ever-popular River Dog Parade, an authors’ booth, NACL Stiltwalkers, and an auction at 11:00 a.m. of original art posters created by area artists.

RiverFest offers many new features this year, including colorfully designed street banners to welcome visitors to town; a new logo featured on an official T-shirt; a photo booth where visitors can recreate the nostalgia of having their picture taken alone or with a friend; a food court; “Riverbucks”, a coupon book that will be given out to the first 300 visitors; and reusable canvas bags, given to the first 100 visitors. Main Street stores will also have in-store specials.
