Isadora Duncan lives through Triad project

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — The choreography of modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan will be given breath and form on Saturday, July 14, when Loretta Thomas leads a “living history” master class in Duncan’s technique.

Duncan’s work transcends time and place, incorporating gesture and breath that bring a richness to both the dancer’s and viewer’s experience. Triad Dance Ensemble, which will produce the event, recently received funding from a Sullivan County Arts and Heritage grant to help preserve classical modern dance technique through this workshop and a performance of Duncan’s choreography that will be performed at the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg in October.

Thomas will teach this open-aged workshop at Highland Yoga and Dance, located across from the NACL theatre. Students aged five to eight years old will attend class from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and students aged nine through adult will attend class from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Tuition costs $10 and $15 respectively.
