Seventeen beauties vie for title

MONTICELLO, NY — Seventeen women, primarily from Orange and Sullivan counties, will compete on Sunday, July 15 for the title of Ms. Monticello Raceway 2007.

The women, all between the ages of 18 and 25, were selected by a panel of six judges from a field of almost 50 women, one of the largest groups of women to ever participate in the annual event, on July 8.

This year’s finals include evening gown and bathing suit competitions and the contest will be run in conjunction with the racing program. The winner will receive $7,500 and the title of Ms. Monticello Raceway 2007. There will be a $2,500 prize for the first runner-up and the second runner-up will receive $1,000.

Horse owner and racing fan Larry Roman is sponsoring the event, as well as acting as the energetic and ever-entertaining MC.
