MILFORD, PA — One of the great charms of the Milford Music Festival is that it takes place all over town, not just in public spaces, but in a wide variety of business locations.

To be sure, there is a full lineup at the Ann Street Park, starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday and at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Groups scheduled include the Gypsy Jazz Quintet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Dave Mason, headlining Saturday night at 8:00 p.m., and Raquy and the Cavemen at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, among many others.

But music may also be found at locations as diverse the Dimmick Inn at Broad and Harford Streets, the Waterwheel Bar at 150 Water Street, Apple Valley Restaurant & Pub at 104 West Harford Street, TLC Salon & Spa at 801 Broad Street, Chant Realtors at 106 E. Harford Street and Wild Meadow Flowers at The Upper Mill, 149 Sawkill Avenue. And the music is as diverse as the locations: jazz piano at Dimmick; jazz and blues at the Waterwheel; rock classics at Apple Valley; Celtic at TLC Salon; country western at Chant; opera at Wild Meadow Flowers. And broad as this list is, it is scarcely exhaustive; for full details, see the schedule at the link listed above. Most, but not all, music is free—charges are indicated on the schedule at the link.

This week, the music festival will be augmented by the first annual Milford Sidewalk Shopping Festival, to be held on Saturday, June 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Milford Business Council received a permit that allows the business owners of the borough to take their business to the streets, for only one day. On that day the streets will bustle with commerce as well as music. Among the participating businesses will be Upriver Home, The Velveteen Habit, The Emporium, Hare Hollow, Susie’s Sweet Shop and many more.
