Chamber music in a rural setting

BETHEL, NY — The Weekend of Chamber Music (WCM) will pre-

sent Music in the Barn at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. The benefit event is held annually at the private country home of a WCM patron.The evening includes a gourmet buffet supper with wine and a chamber music concert in the renovated barn, after which guests stroll back across the grounds to a candlelit terrace for dessert.

Performing music by Handel, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams and Mozart are flutist Judith Pearce, soprano Szilvia Schranz, clarinetist Allen Blustine, bassoonist Leonard Hindell and Kenneth Hamrick on the harpsichord. Each of these artists maintains an active professional career, and has earned enthusiastic reviews for their performances.

The event benefits the programs and work of WDM in Sullivan County. Each year since 1996, world-class performing artists such as these have traveled to Sullivan County to coach student musicians in school bands and chamber music ensembles.

Reservations are required, for a donation of $75 per person. Directions to the event will be given when reservations are made. Weekend of Chamber Music is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and donations are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.
