Holmes and Zukowski open the summer for The Artery

MILFORD, PA — The Artery Gallery in Milford will open a new exhibition of award-winning artist Lisa Zukowski and sculptor Tom Holmes on Thursday, June 7. Art works by The Artery’s other 20 members also will be on display at the spacious gallery located in the Forest Hall Building at the stoplight in Milford. The exhibition runs from June 7 through Monday, July 9. The public is invited to attend the reception, which will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Tom Holmes, an award-winning, veteran gallery member, will be displaying sculpture in wood. His “Wright” birdhouse was chosen to represent and tour with the “Out of the Nest Artists’ Birdhouses” traveling exhibit, which went on a four-year tour of American museums. Aside from his affiliation with the Artery, he is also represented by the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea, New York City. His work may also be viewed at www.tomholmes.com.

Lisa Zukowski, whose work incorporates imagery from the natural to the manmade to the abstract, will be showing recent paintings in encaustic and acrylic. She is a two-time recipient of the Bernard Shaw Memorial Award for painting, as well as many awards from local arts organizations. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Italy, where she conducts an art holiday each year in Tuscany. Her work may be viewed at www.lisaz.com.

The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. It is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
