Bumblebees, farm-and-garden helpers
Spring has sprung, plants are budding and flowers are blooming. While walking past my friends daffodil garden, I noticed some bumblebees flying from flower to flower in their quest for nectar. While they forage for nectar and pollen, they also pollinate the plants they visit. This is essential for the production of wild plant seed or cultivated fruits and vegetables.

Take a spring bird walk
WHITE MILLS, PAExpert birder Peter Wulfhorst will lead a spring bird walk through meadow, forest and waterside habitat at the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, May 19 from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.
Participants will hear and see warblers, vireos, thrushes, tanagers and other songbirds passing through or establishing nest sites and singing to announce their territory.
