Kites take flight in Loch Sheldrake

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY —The bright blue sky is ablaze with color during the “Running of the Bols,” an annual event staged by the New York Kite Exchange at Kite Day, which was held at Sullivan County Community College on May 5. This year was the 16th anniversary of the family fun event, which featured kites of every conceivable shape, size and color. Several hundred toddlers, teens and adults worked on their kite-flying skills, ate delicious foods and spent a glorious spring day enjoying one of the world’s oldest pastimes.
