Hoyt and Bialos featured at Milford gallery

MILFORD, PA — The ARTery Fine Arts and Crafts Gallery will open a new exhibition featuring award-winning painters Earl Hoyt and Al Bialos with an opening reception from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.

New gallery member Hoyt operated his own industrial design firm for 38 years, winning three Clio Awards for excellence in visual design, and has also been awarded 86 utility and visual design patents. He retired from the Hoyt Group, Inc. in 1992 and since that time has focused his creative energy on watercolor painting. His watercolors display a mastery of technique in which his realistic forms (generally boats and landscape elements) move and sway to an abstract rhythm that animates every painting.

Bialos’ paintings in acrylics and mixed media are based upon the human figure, which he simplifies into flat shapes of vivid color with startling value contrasts and textures. Bialos’ mastery of composition is evident in every canvas. His paintings have been exhibited in Florida, Israel and Italy. The Delaware Water Gap Art Festival awarded his work Best of Show in 2001, and First Place in 2002.

Works by the ARTery’s other 20 artists will also be on display at the spacious gallery located in Forest Hall at the corner of Broad and Harford Streets in Milford.

The ARTery is a cooperative gallery owned and operated by its members. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Monday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
