Brian Lee Davidson of Swan Lake, NY, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a long illness at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh, NY on Thursday, April 19, 2007. He was 31.

The son of Bruce P. Davidson and Hilda Castillo, he was born June 18, 1975 in Monticello, NY.

Brian was a counselor for Sullivan ARC at the Franklin House in Monticello and a construction worker. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Liberty.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Bruce P. and Agnes Davidson Sr. of Loch Sheldrake, NY; his mother, Hilda Castillo of Puerto Rico; his maternal grandmother, Christiana Grullon of Woodridge, NY; his companion, Theresa Rizzitano at home; two daughters, Ashley Rizzitano and Samantha Rizzitano at home; five brothers, Bruce P. Davidson Jr. and his wife Mary, of Liberty, NY, Brad Davidson of Glen Wild, NY, John Borgia of Woodridge, Robert Borgia and his wife Jacqueline of North Carolina, and Brendan Davidson of Loch Sheldrake; six sisters, Melissa Corigliano and husband Michael of Liberty, Gina Maliga of Woodridge, Gina Tanaka and Douglas of Smallwood, NY, Elizabeth Davidson of Hurleyville, NY, Michelle Davidson of Brooklyn and Kaitlyn Davidson of Loch Sheldrake; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 23, at St. Peter’s Church in Liberty with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating. Burial was made in Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY.

George R. Davidson III of Briscoe, NY, a general contractor, died April 24, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY.

The son of George Jr. and Catherine Donnery Davidson, he was born in Cornwall, NY on June 20, 1948.

George was a member of Bucktail Hunting Club; a member and past chief of Youngsville Fire Department; former Deputy Coordinator for Sullivan County Bureau of Fire; former Fire Commissioner of the Youngsville Fire District and the Jeffersonville Fire District; and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Bryan Davidson at home; one son, Bryan Davidson and his fiancé Jennifer Stevens of Binghamton, NY; one daughter, Colleen Davidson and her fiancé Christopher Multari of Jericho, NY; his mother-in-law, Arlene Bryan of Youngsville, NY; his brothers and sisters, Susan Holbert of Lackawaxen, PA, Robert Davidson of Lackawaxen, Theresa Curtis of Jeffersonville, NY, Erich Davidson of Quakertown, PA and Cathy Davidson of Orefield, PA; his sister and brother-in-laws, Patricia and William Norris of Youngsville and Greg and Meg Bryan of Youngsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville. Firematic services were on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery, Youngsville.

Donna M. Dennis of Honesdale, PA died on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. She was 63. Her husband is Charles A. Dennis.

The daughter of Rose M. Samide Eno and the late Clifford Eno of Beach Lake, PA, she was born in Honesdale, PA.

Donna operated a hair salon in Honesdale for several years. She was a member of Calkins Baptist Church and a former treasurer and youth group leader of Old Parish Congregational Church in Sheffield, MA. She enjoyed cooking and crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycle riding and driving her convertible. She was a loving grandmother, mother and a wonderful loving wife.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Jamie and Matthew Higgins of Vernon, NJ and Cherie and Michael Phillips of Bradford, RI; a stepson, Jeffrey Dennis and his wife Kelly of Saratoga Springs, NY; a brother, Fred Eno and his wife Janice of Pawcatuck, CT; six grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her father and a stepdaughter, Lisa Lynn Dennis.

Funeral services were held at Calkins Baptist Church, Calkins, PA with the Rev. Lane Jones officiating. Interment followed in Calkins Cemetery.

Maye Diuguid of Monticello, NY, the widow of John S. Diuguid and the former owner and operator of Yellow Cab Company in Monticello, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 86.

The daughter of Joseph and Tillie Green Brown, she was born August 21, 1920 in New York City.

Maya was a longtime member of Hadassah, the City of Hope and B’nai B’rith.

She is survived by two sons, John Diuguid of Eldred, NY and Dennis Diuguid and his wife Pat of Monticello; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 22 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc., Monticello. Rabbi Michele Medwin officiated.

Edward P. “Big Ed” Fitzpatrick, III of Parksville, NY, owner of Big Ed Fitzpatrick’s Small Excavating, LLC and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at his home. He was 50.

The son of Marietta Post Rice and the late Edward P. Fitzpatrick, Jr., he was born August 31, 1956 in West Point, NY.

In a family statement, “Ed was known by many and loved by all. Ed was happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Known for his big heart and mighty laugh, he will be truly missed by all.”

He is survived by his wife, Judyann Steigler Fitzpatrick; his children, Edward Fitzpatrick, Vickie Fitzpatrick, Tim Fitzpatrick, Karen Fitzpatrick, Jason and Rebecca Tomasulo, Stephen Tomasulo, Paul Tomasulo and April Nunez; his grandchildren, Tai Liu Hodges, Nora Fitzpatrick, Eve Fitzpatrick, Chloe Fitzpatrick, Stephen Tomasulo, Salko Kanic, and he was anticipating the arrival of a seventh grandchild. He is also survived by his mother, Marietta Rice; his step mother, Phyllis Fitzpatrick; his siblings, Jean Corniellier, Bonnie Fitzpatrick and Rick Behan, Tammy and Art Duke, Gary and Debby Fitzpatrick, Jackie and John Barboza and Rickie Fitzpatrick; as well as a multitude of great nieces and nephews, aunts uncles and cousins.

Visitation was on Sunday, April 29, 2007 in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services were held in the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Fitzpatrick officiated.


Shawn Murabito of Port Jervis, NY died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 49.

The son of Carol June Urbin, he was born June 30, 1957 in Middletown, NY

A family statement read, “Dad was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to all and will be greatly missed.”

Samuel Antonio Sotomayor of Masthope, Lackawaxen, PA died on Monday, April 16, 2007, at home. He was 69.

The son of the late Antonio and Antonia (Rivera) Sotomayor, he was born on November 15, 1937 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Samuel was a former resident of Puerto Rico. He worked as a merchant seaman prior to his retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Angelica Patterson of Lackawaxen and Sandra Libran of Downingtown, PA.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Angelica Sabater.

The funeral was on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Teeters’ First Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. Burial was in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
