Pint-sized lion arrives in Honesdale
HONESDALE, PA On March 17, a coal-fired working steam model (1½ scale or 1/8 size) of the famous Stourbridge Lion locomotive arrived in Honesdale from Sarasota, FL. It is shown with its previous owner, Robert Eastman, who recently sold it to the Wayne County Historical Society, at the throttle. The purchase price was covered by four of our generous members, reported Sally Talaga, Executive Director of the society. Paul Talaga transported the model from Florida to Honesdale.
Volunteers are needed to assist in formulating plans for a variety of uses for the new acquisition. For more information email wchs@ptd.net or call 570/253-3240.
