CAS solicits works for small works exhibition

LIBERTY, NY — The Catskill Artists Gallery, on 38 South Main Street, will hold its first Small Works Exhibition opening from Saturday, May 26 to Sunday, July 1. Designed to celebrate the local artist—recognized or not—the exhibit has been formulated as part of Liberty’s bicentennial celebration, but is planned to be the first of an annual series.

There will be an opening reception on the 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with refreshments, and many artists on hand.

This unjuried show will welcome any works that meet the guidelines. The works may be no larger than 10 inches in any direction, including frames or hanging devices, and must be ready for display. All types of art and media will be welcome: painting, photography, sculpture, metal, wood, fabric, glass and others, in addition to the usual paper and canvas. There will be a $20 nonrefundable fee for submission of up to three works. Works can be for sale, in which case there will be a 30 percent commission to the gallery.

Artists who wish to submit their work can download an application from www.catskillartistsgallery.com or call 570/292-0310 to have one mailed. All works must be hand delivered to the gallery no later than May 19 by 6:00 p.m. Participants will receive extra postcards for their mailing needs.

The Catskill Artists Gallery is open Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
