Narrowsburg Easter parade and egg hunt
NARROWSBURG, NY Area children can help usher in the season with an Easter Bonnet Parade and egg hunt on Main Street. The event is planned for Saturday, April 7, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
According to Michael Eurey, owner of the wine shop on Main Street, children are being urged to wear Easter bonnets, and will walk from the blinking light by the bridge to Pennsylvania down Main Street, past Rasmussens furniture store. Then, the participating merchants will place Easter eggs outside of the shops to be collected by the children as they make their way back up Main Street. The eggs, however, will not be real eggs; instead they will be plastic eggs with a treat or toy inside.
Eurey said most of the merchants on the street are participating.
The exteriors of several shops have been decorated with eggs and bunnies; Eurey said along with the eggs, stuffed bunnies will also be given away.
The New York State Division for Youth and the Office of Child and Family Services provided funding for the event, which is sponsored by the Tusten Youth Commission.
