Prunka grounds Bronx Bombers

BRONX, NY - The Sullivan County Community College Generals improved their record to 5-7 on the season with a convincing 9-2 win over the 2006 CUNY Conference Champions Bronx CC Broncos on March 28.

Mike Prunka (Glen Spey/Eldred HS) picked up his first collegiate win pitching five innings. He allowed only one hit, struck out four. Corey VanKeuren (Parksville/Liberty), Imgembert Tavarez (Bronx/South Bronx) and Dan Mills (Cornwall/Cornwall) preserved the win for Prunka by pitching the final four innings.

“Mike was outstanding on the bump today,” praised SCCC coach Mike Marra. “He mixed speeds and location very well against a very aggressive offensive team.”
