Two Sullivan West football players move to next level

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY - John “Tank” Dertinger of the Sullivan West Bulldogs has made the decision to attend Division III Thiel College in Greenville, PA. He was also recruited by Utica, Mount Ida and Salisbury. Dertinger will be studying criminal justice.

A four-year starter, Dertinger played two years as center/defensive tackle for Roscoe and was coached by Fred Ahart. He transferred to Sullivan West and played guard/defensive end for two years for coach Ron Bauer. He will be playing fullback for Thiel and will be coached by Jack Leipheimer.

Justin Alsdorf will be attending SUNY-Maritime in Throgs Neck, NY. He will be playing wide receiver for coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes this fall. Former Sullivan West standout Jim Erlwein currently plays football at SUNY Maritime.
