Eight Sullivan County boys named OCIAA Divisional All-Stars

Tri-Valley’s John Merchant selected as Division V Player of the Year

GOSHEN, NY - Sullivan County basketball teams played in four of the OCIAA’s six divisions, and members of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York selected all-stars from each division.

Monticello’s Mike Norman and Omar Diaz were named as Division III All-Stars. Kevin Cappiello and Derek Hahn were accorded similar honors in Division IV. Tri-Valley’s John Merchant was selected as the Division V Player of the Year. Teammates Fred Moore and Dustin VanLieu were also selected to the Division V All-Star team. Andreas Petrou of the Family School was the sole Sullivan County selection to the Division VI team.

On the girls side of the ledger, Sullivan West’s Rachel Houghtaling and Sarah Lander were chosen as Division IV All-Stars.
