Discount trees and shrubs available from conservation district

SULLIVAN COUNTY, PA — The Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District has announced its annual spring Tree & Shrub Program. The district offers a wide variety of deciduous and conifer species. A range of quantities is offered, from small amounts for the homeowner to large quantities for the landscaper or large parcel planter, at reduced costs to promote conservation plantings.

Landowners can choose from a wide variety of species of trees and shrubs and specialized packets such as nut tree, flowering tree and shrub, song bird and butterfly. Other items available through the program are fruit trees, ground covers, fertilizer tablets, marking flags, tree protectors and bluebird boxes.

To order, call the district office at 845/292-6552, ext. 101 to request the brochure and order blank. The application deadline is Friday, April 6. Tree pickup is Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 at the district office.
