Narrowsburg man killed in Iraq
Casualty of small arms fire
NARROWBURG, NYPfc. Anthony Kaiser, 27, was killed in Baghdad, Iraq on March 17. According to the Department of Defense (DOD), Kaiser died of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire. Kaiser was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Fort Lewis, WA.
A spokesman for the DOD said he did not know when Kaisers body would arrive in the United States, and that the time could vary depending on circumstances in Iraq.

Democrats attacked for promises not kept

MONTICELLO, NYRepublican county chairman John LiGreci set an aggressive tone when he accused Democrats of overspending, creating unnecessary new government jobs and not fulfilling promises they made when they were swept into the majority in January 2004.
The occasion was a news conference at the Sullivan County Government Center on March 15 to announce Republican candidates for the November elections.
