KEITH JAMES BICUM
Keith James Biccum of Kingman, AZ, a carpenter and former resident of Port Jervis, NY, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Arizona. He was 47.
The son of the late James W. and Lena A. McBride Biccum, he was born January 25, 1960 in Port Jervis.
Keith loved to go hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Thurner and her mother Valarie of North Carolina; three sisters, Janet Finch and her husband Robert of Montague, NJ, Mary Pantis and her husband Steve of Port Jervis and Anna Polanis and her husband Joe of Hemlock Farms, PA; brother-in-law George Handelong of Shohola, PA; dear friend Ellie Biccum and her son, Robert of Eldred, NY; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Port Jervis on Saturday, March 10, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Robert D. Cassidy officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
HELEN C. BOGDANSKI
Helen C. Bogdanski of Warwick, NY, formerly of Pine Island, NY, a retired self-employed onion farmer and lifetime area resident, died on Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Valley View Rehabilitation Center Goshen, NY. She was 89.
The daughter of Frank J. and Mary Kuszek Bogdanski, she was born on October 5, 1917 in Pine Island.
Helen was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island and an honorary member of the Pine Island Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her nieces, Mary Ann Bogdanski of Potomac, MD, Eleanor Auberger of Cincinnatus, NY, Dorothy Urwin of the state of Florida, Carolyn Schmick of Warwick, NY and Louise Hartmann of Sparrowbush, NY; a nephew, Andrew A. Bogdanski of Allentown, PA; several step-nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by several brothers and one sister.
Helen was the last surviving member of the original Bogdanski family that settled in Pine Island in the late 1890s.
Funeral mass was held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

JEAN BYRNE
Jean Byrne passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007. She was 83.
Born to Ella Newton and Joseph Kennedy on December 6, 1924, Jean was raised in Manhattan and the Bronx, NY.
Jean worked at Schrafts restaurant for over 15 years and at the Eldred Preserve for over 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Mariah (Patricia) Hochhauser and son, John Byrne; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and by her extended family Paula Heckler, Alan Hochhauser, Cindy Byrne, Jeremy Burnette, Janette Fleszer, Jeannie Olson, Michael Pearson, William (Billy) Pageau, Lynne ONeill and Katherine Horecky.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, John Byrne, her sister Marion ONeil and her parents, Ella Newton and Joseph Kennedy.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9 in Saint Anthonys Church, Yulan, NY.
Interment will be at St. Anthonys Cemetery by her family at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Legion Ambulance Corps, Eldred, NY.
GLADYS CHUDIK
Gladys Chudik of Mileses, PA entered into rest on March 1, 2007. She was 89.
She was born on March 9, 1917.
Gladys was a preschool teacher prior to her retirement. She held much pride in receiving her Childhood Development Certificate from SCCC at the age of 80 in 1997.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie and Brian Szawiola of Mileses, Robin McElroy of Callicoon, NY, John and Ellen Chudik of Mileses and Laurie and John Masten of Jeffersonville, NY; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her late husband, John D. Chudik.
Memorial services were held on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon. Funeral service was held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial was made at the Fremont Center Cemetery, Fremont Center, NY.

DANIEL R. DEGROAT
Daniel R. DeGroat of Hawley, PA died on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA following a short illness.
The son of the late Henry H. and Annie Perry DeGroat, he was born in Palmyra Township in Wayne County, PA.
Daniel was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired equipment operator for PennDOT. He was a member of the Blooming Grove Baptist Church, where he also served as honorary deacon.
He is survived by a daughter, Melody Ann Conklin of Hawley; four granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, the former Rosemary Crawford, in 2004.
The funeral was held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Teeters East Chapel, Hawley with services by the Rev. Douglas Rhine, pastor of Blooming Grove Baptist Church. Interment was in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, PA.
PATRICIA GELDERMAN
Patricia Gelderman of Shohola, PA passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY.
The daughter of Orville Myers and Lyversa Beisel Myers, Patricia was born in Port Jervis, NY on January 15, 1937. She married George A. Gelderman on August 10, 1959 at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Patricia was a retired bookkeeper for Flexible Fabricators, Port Jervis and secretary and teachers aide for the Delaware Valley School System.
She is survived by her husband George Gelderman at home; one son, George Gelderman and his wife Rachel of Montague, NJ; two granddaughters; one brother, Robert Myers of Maryland; one niece; and her loving dog, Snowflake.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place at Montoza Cemetery, Barryville, NY.

WALTER E. SELOVER
Walter E. Selover of Dingmans Ferry, PA died on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at home. He was 70.
The son of Walter E. and Myrtle (Martin) Selover, he was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 1, 1937. He was married to Joy (Van Gorden) Selover.
Walter was the owner and operator of Wallys Pocono Disposal. He was a member of the NRA and served in the Army from 1958-1960.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; two sons, Walter E. Punny Selover Jr. and his wife Pamela of Dickinson, ND and Daniel Van Gordorn and wife Janet of Middletown, NY; four daughters, Barbara South and husband Rick of Columbus, MS, Lizze Goldschneider and husband John of Sparrowbush, NY, Jacqueline Van Gordon of Dingman Ferry; 12 grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter Hughes of Port Jervis, NY and Elwood Selover of Long Island, NY.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
DIANE WILLIAMS
Diane Williams, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007 at her home in Sparrowbush, NY She was 59.
Diane was born July 18,1947 in Franklin, NJ.
Diane was employed at Bon Secours Hospital as an environmental worker.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Guerriere and his wife Vanica of Reno, NV; a daughter, Tammy Filardi of Lagrangeville, NY; four sisters, Carol Struble and her husband Lyn of Middletown, NY; four brothers, John Shauger of Branchville, NJ, David Brunell and his wife Diane of Huguenot, NY, Joseph Brunell of Middletown, NY, Daniel Brunell and fiancé Kelly Shannon; a surviving uncle, Wesley Shauger and his wife Mamie of Franklin, NJ; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; and her beloved cat, Rainbow.
She was predeceased by her mother, Ida Mary Shauger of Sparrowbush, NY; and her niece, Melissa Lyn Struble of Slate Hill, NY.
A private service for the family will beheld at a later date in the Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgebury, NY.
