Counting eagles

The National Mid-Winter Bald Eagle Survey took place across the nation early in January. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), for its 28th consecutive count, performed most of the survey for New York on January 10 amid scattered snow squalls and windy conditions.

Winter wonderland

Global warming? El Nino? Some combination of the two? Whatever the cause of this weird winter weather, I’ve just been trying to figure out how it will affect this year’s gardening season. Will it be blazing hot and dry, warm and wet, or completely “normal” (whatever that means)?
