Live performances and local art give luster to The Art Party

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — Local and regional artists are coming out in force to support WJFF Radio Catskill (90.5fm) and NACL Theater for The Art Party, the second annual mid-winter arts extravaganza, starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10 at NACL’s historic theater. The Art Party will feature a silent auction and cocktails, along with a series of art installations and live performances.

The silent auction will feature a wide variety of donated artwork by local and regional artists. Some of the well-known artists who have donated their work include Armand Agresti, Anthony Biancoviso, Jane Blake, Andrea Brown, Carolyn Duke, Steven Erdman, Thomas Ferrone, Cecily Fortescue, Phil Garfield, Kristen Grombeck, Ayla Maloney, Charles Maraia, E. Morisot, Trix Render, Kathy Rieser, John Roth, Allan Rubin, Hank Schneider, Candy Spilner and Jill Wiener. Most of the work available in the silent auction may be seen at www.wjffradio.org.

The party will heat up with live performances starting at 8:00 p.m. There will be jazz by The Sweetblood Quartet, a sound sculpture installation by Pennsylvania artist Tom Holmes along with guests Tom Moonan and Michael Bell, a short excerpt from NACL’s newest show, “The Uncanny Appearance of Sherlock Holmes,” and juggling and vaudevillian high jinx by Peter Daniel Straus.

Tickets cost $10 at the door. Refreshments will be served.
