JOSEPH S. BRUTKIEWICZ
LACKAWAXEN, PA Joseph S. Brutkiewicz, a long-time resident of the area, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at home. He was 73.
The son of the late John and Catherine Kakoska Brutkiewicz, he was born November 23, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY.
Brutkiewicz was a retired sergeant of the Hospital Police employed by Health & Hospice Corporation in New York City. He served in the navy as a merchant marine during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Paternal Order of the Police.
A family statement said: A loving father and grandfather, he will be truly missed by the family. A special thanks to hospice for the great care he received.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Strauss; five sons, Walter, Kevin, Steven, John and Stan; and four grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
NORTH BRANCH, NY Rosemary Doty, a lifetime area resident, died at home on Wednesday, December 20, 2006. She was 51.
The daughter of Frederick and Eleanor Carney Knack, she was born April 16, 1955 in Callicoon.
Doty was a school monitor at Roscoe Central School.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Doty, at home; her children, Terri Cron of Long Island, Karin Steffens and her husband Dale of North Branch, Suzanne Doty and Douglas Doty of Kenoza Lake; four brothers, Larry Knack of Callicoon, Michael Knack of North Branch, Daniel Knack of Liberty, and Kevin Knack of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Saturday, December 23 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
WALTER R. FULLER JR
PORT JERVIS, NY Walter R. Fuller of Sparrowbush died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 69.
The son of the late Walter R. and Louise E. Conklin Fuller Sr., he was born February 20, 1937 in Port Jervis.
Fuller was a retired rural route carrier and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church, the Postal Workers Union, CSEA and the Retreads Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Decker Fuller, at home; five sons, Walter R. Fuller III and his wife Margo of Port Jervis, Keith A. Fuller and his wife Claire of Newport, VT, Michael A. Fuller and his wife Dawn of Pond Eddy, Mark R. Fuller and his wife Ronda of Port Jervis, and Joseph J. Fuller and his fiancée Tammy of Sparrowbush;, his daughter, Daphne Ann Fuller of Sparrowbush; two brothers, Edward Fuller and his wife Margie of Port Jervis, and Leroy Fuller of North Carolina; two sisters, Arlene Stewart and her husband Tom of Port Jervis, and Susann Van Nostrand of Matamoras, PA; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Gary Fuller.
Services were held on Saturday, December 23 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis with the Reverend Robert Mayer officiating.
Interment is at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.

HELEN DUFFY JONES
HONESDALE, PA Helen Duffy Jones of Milanville died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 92.
The daughter of the late John and Nellie Moloney Jones, she was born January 6, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY.
A longtime area resident, Jones was a homemaker. A family statement said: A loving mother and grandmother, she was a big part of our lives. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her three children, Robert of New Jersey, Ronald and his wife Joann of Milanville, and Maureen Leslie of Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Jones.
Services were held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Narrowsburg, NY. The Reverend William Scully officiated.
Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.

GUY W. KEESLER
HONESDALE, PA Guy W. Keesler died on Friday, December 15, 2006 in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. He was 56.
The son of the late Ainsley and Muriel Wood Keesler, he was born in Callicoon, NY.
Keesler was a graduate of the Damascus High School.
He is survived by a brother, Phillip and his wife Linda of Damascus; two sisters, Helen Greer of Starlight and Kathleen Keeser of Waymart; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Keesler, Betty Miller and Barbara Keesler; and two brothers, John and Ward Keesler.
A graveside service will be held in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Damascus.
ELWOOD L. LESTER
PORT JERVIS, NY Elwood L. Lester of Matamoras, PA, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at St. Josephs Place. He was 94.
The son of the late Norman and Mamie Gill Lester, he was born September 18, 1912 in Equinunk, PA.
Lester was a retired signal maintainer for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, Local No. 145.
He is survived by a stepson, James Soller and his wife Wilma of Great Bend, PA; three stepdaughters, Janet Clark and her husband William of Matamoras, PA, Phyllis Nerove of Polk City, FL, and Sharon Willis and her husband Tom of Matamoras; a daughter-in-law, Marion Lester of Denville, NJ; a sister, Dorothy Brown of Equinunk; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Elwood Lawrence Lester; his brother, Anthony Lester; and his sister, Leora Payne.
Services were held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis with the Reverend Robert C. Grieve officiating
Interment is at the Lackawaxen Cemetery.
