Sullivan West boys, Tri-Valley girls take Division IV titles

Section IX track athletes hone their skills at West Point in new meet format

WEST POINT, NY - With the completion of the third and final developmental meet at West Point on December 17, many of the region’s indoor runners, jumpers and throwers continued to show improvement by bettering their times and distances in their respective events.

While some schools like Tri-Valley will continue a busy schedule right into the holiday period, with a trip to the Armory on December 20 for the Spike Shoe Invitational and a revisit to West Point for the West Point Invitational on December 23, many other teams will wind down until the season heats up in January.

A parent expresses his thanks to the Eldred community

ELDRED, NY - Anyone who has attended any of Eldred’s football games, either at home or away, has seen Richie Ranne wearing his Yellowjackets jersey, and showing any and all bystanders his latest matchbox cars as he greets them with a big smile.

‘Bulldog Express’ races to Division win over Raiders

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY - Sullivan West’s transition defense finally got on track as the Bulldogs outscored James I. O’Neill 28-11 in the fourth quarter in a demonstrative 78-60 league-opening win on December 14.

Beating the Raiders in front of a packed home-gym crowd sent a shiver of excitement through Bulldog territory as Sullivan West did something it failed to accomplish last season: suit up a healthy Derek Hahn and Kevin Cappiello.
