Holiday magic fills the air

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NYSanta arrived in Eldred on Saturday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m., on a brightly lit, 50-foot sleigh. Hundreds of little faces lit up in enchantment to see this massive sleigh, packed with holiday characters, pull up to Pecks Market, its first stop.
Dozens of parked cars filled with children, faces pressed against the windows, were ready awaiting Santa and his pals. When Santas voice rose above all the anticipatory chatter in Pecks parking lot, children and parents, all wide-eyed, ran to greet the sleigh.

What's at the Movies

Charlottes Web a familiar but pleasant adaptation
I cant remember now if I read E.B. Whites Charlottes Web back in grade school, but whether or not I did, it is Hanna-Barberas animated feature film version that has stuck with me. It illustrates the same lessons as the book—it gave my young self a bitter pang of realization concerning the full breadth of mortality.
