Students at work on third EagleFest art contest
NARROWSBURG, NY The third annual Student Eagle-Fest Art Poster Contest, open to Sullivan West Central School District students grades K through 2, is being sponsored by the Bank of America. According to festival co-founder John DiGiorgio, We are hoping to encourage our youth to become aware, involved and proud of the diverse wildlife and environment we have in our area.
According to Jacky Robisch, Sullivan West elementary school principal, there will be an estimated 300 students in grades K through 12 participating in the contest. The posters are of heavy white construction paper, and are being completed during their art classes. Art teacher Anne Devlin Raum has been working with students during November and December on the posters. This years theme is A day in the life of an eagle.
Submissions are due by December 29. According to Debra Reimer of the Bank of America, the winning posters will be on display in the lobby of the bank branches in Narrowsburg and Callicoon following the event.
Prizes will be awarded by John DiGiorgio, Jacky Robisch and Debra Reimer during the opening ceremony at EagleFest. First prize is a $300 savings bond, second prize is a $200 savings bond and third prize is a $100 savings bond. Six runners up prizes will each be a $50 savings bond.
