Santa Claus is comin’ to town

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — On Saturday, December 16, Santa Claus will once again be making a tour of towns in southern Sullivan County on his 50-foot lighted and musical sleigh, courtesy of the Eldred Preserve.

He is scheduled to arrive at Peck’s Supermarket in Eldred at approximately 5:00 p.m. During this stop, cookies and candy canes will be handed out by all Santa’s friends, including Rudolph, Frosty, Gingerbread Man, Toy Soldier, Mrs. Claus and more. A special song will also be sung by one of Santa’s Elves before they leave and head up Proctor Road to Circle Park in Glen Spey, where Santa will stop again to entertain all who are there.

Santa will then make a left onto Forestburgh Road, another left onto Mohican Lake Road and head towards Highland Lake Road before coming to the light back in Eldred. The “sleigh” will then travel to the four corners in Barryville on Route 55. After meeting and greeting children in Barryville, Santa will make his way up the Barryville-Yulan Road for his final stop at the ballpark in Yulan. See map for details.

The entire tour will amount to over 30 miles. Families are encouraged to be on the lookout for Santa either at their houses or at the determined locations. Signs or banners greeting Santa are also welcomed. Listen to Thunder 102.1 FM for updates.
