Free movie at the Callicoon Theater

CALLICOON, NY — “Flicka,” an exciting, heart-warming retelling of the classic story of love and loyalty between a teen and her horse, has been selected as this year’s 14th annual Community Appreciation matinee film by the Callicoon Theater. The movie is rated PG, runs for one hour and 35 minutes and stars Tim McGraw, Alison Lohman and Maria Bello.

Shows are scheduled for Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free.

“Our loyal patrons are responsible for keeping the Callicoon Theater open; this is our way of thanking them for their support and friendship throughout the year,” said Jim and Barbara Kayton, owners and operators of the theater since 1986.

Upcoming films for this holiday season include “The Nativity Story” (PG), “Casino Royale” (PG-13), “Happy Feet” (PG) and “Deja Vu” (PG-13).

Opened in 1948, the 380-seat Callicoon Theater is the oldest continuously operated cinema in Sullivan County and has been voted Best Movie Theater in the region by moviegoers annually since 1986.
