Cookbook features local and historical photos

LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Bicentennial Committee has published a cookbook to help fund the events planned for the village’s 2007 bicentennial celebration. Recipes for the book were submitted by residents of Swan Lake, Liberty, Parksville, White Sulphur Springs and Ferndale. In addition to the recipes, the book, which was compiled by Cindy Karras and Margaret Curtis, contains histories of each hamlet, and is embellished with illustrations taken from postcards and photographs of the surrounding area, many of them historical.

The 120-page hardbound volume costs $10, and can be purchased at the Liberty Town Hall, 120 North Main Street, by emailing cindykarras@hotmail.com or by calling 845/292 0614.
