Fallsburg achievers headed for Baltimore

FALLSBURG, NY — Fallsburg Junior/Senior High School has selected 20 of its highest achieving young people to join over 600 other student leaders at the Leadership Experience and Development (LEAD) conference held March 2-4, 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland. The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the National Honor Society, the National Junior Honor Society and the National Association of Student Councils host the LEAD conference. The class advisors, faculty, guidance counselors and administration selected the Fallsburg representatives based on community service, school leadership, academic performance and recommendations.

At the conference, the students will attend workshops on improving leadership skills, problem solving, student project planning and student activity program development. Popular motivational speakers will address the group in special sessions.

The student leaders from Fallsburg are Tony Perito, Amanda McAuliffe, Shorouk Abohussein, Ramya Pratt, Jillian Alexander, Da’Quan Davis, Brittany Borko, Andrea Zalkin, Vincent Stowell, Stephen Bedik, Ryan Taylor, Brody Wiles, Brittany Baldwin-Hunter, Bianca Rappaport, Joanna Blanchard, Gregory Bedik, Lauren Pratt, Sophie Marsden, Michael Melko, and Esti Ross. Faculty chaperones are Michael Weiner, Jamie Lippen, Elaine Pfeffer and Dan MacDonald.
