Panther seniors get their final chance

By JESSE CAMPANARO, Monticello High School

MONTICELLO NY — The Monticello wrestling team opens its season with great expectations. With five seniors this year, the Panthers look to have one of their most successful seasons yet. The Panthers fell short in their league last year with a heart-breaking loss to Cornwall.

The Panthers have moved up to Division II and will compete against teams like Minisink Valley, Saugerties, Washingtonville, Warwick and Wallkill in their quest to win a league championship.

This year’s returning wrestlers are Andres Diaz, Andrew Moss, John Bowens, Alexis Bruno, Vinny Bruggletta, Jesse Campanaro, Will Keelser, Aaron Levine, Anthony Aber and Jimmy Garcia. The Panthers open their season at the Section 9 Duals against Goshen on December 5.

Ed Kaufmann coaches the Panthers.
