Christmas trees: buy local and get it fresh

REGION — It may be tempting to buy a Christmas tree at a big-box store, but if you want to be sure it is truly fresh—and that the person tying it to your car knows what he or she is doing—you’re better off going to one of the local farms or nurseries.

The problem is that many Christmas tree businesses are hard to find, since they seldom appear in yellow page directories and often don’t advertise. The list below is up to date, but not complete. If you know of places not on the list, please email us at copyeditor@riverreporter.com with the name, location, and a contact number and we will publish the information in a subsequent issue.
