Pond Eddy Bridge capacity downgraded

Need for repairs is urgent

SHOHOLA, PA—After receiving the results of a recent “in-depth inspection” of the deteriorating Pond Eddy Bridge that connects the Pennsylvania community of Pond Eddy with the Town of Lumberland in Sullivan County, NY, PennDOT officials are moving swiftly to reduce risks by downgrading the structure’s load rating and commencing repairs.

Carney is among centrist Democrats who won

He is opposed to abortion and gun control

DUNMORE, PA—Chris Carney, the Congressman-elect for the 10th Congressional District, is among those newly elected Democrats who are being called centrists rather than liberals.

Many pundits are claiming that it was the independents and the disaffected Republicans that swung the election to the Democrats. It was not solely the traditional base of the party which has been more liberal than centrist, they say.

Sheriff wants new countywide gang unit

‘We can’t afford to lose control of the streets’

MONTICELLO, NY—At a club just outside of the Monticello village limit in late October, a man was nearly beaten to death, and another was stabbed. The troubling part, for the county sheriff deputies, is no one at the club at the time saw or heard anything.

For Sheriff Mike Schiff, that’s a sign that gang activity was connected to the incident.
