Sharing Thanksgiving bounty
Callicoon, NY
Interfaith Outreach United (IOU) offers low-income families living within a 15-mile radius of Callicoon Thanksgiving baskets with turkey and all the fixings.
To receive a basket, a member of the family must register in advance at the Main Street Thrift Shop in Callicoon, no later than Saturday, November 18. The Thrift Shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Each basket includes a frozen turkey appropriate to the familys size, stuffing mix, potatoes, a vegetable, cranberry sauce and dessert makings.
The fixings are donated by churches which support IOU. Turkeys are provided by individuals and local businesses. Anyone wishing to donate a turkey or contribute cash for purchase of turkeys should call 845/887-5637.
The baskets will be distributed on Monday, November 20 between noon and 3:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church Hall on Route 97.
Families who wish to receive Christmas turkeys and gifts for their children from the Christmas Toy Exchange may also sign up at the Main Street Thrift Shop, beginning November 29.
Honesdale, PA
The Grace Episcopal Church at 827 Church Street will hold its annual free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 23. There will be two seatings for the dinner, one at 12:00 noon and the other at 1:15 pm. Reservations are required.

The First Presbyterian Church of Milford will hold a free Thanksgiving dinner at 11:00 a.m. at their location on Broad and Ann Streets. Meals will be delivered to those who cannot travel.

The Ladore Lodge of the Salvation Army will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 23 at the lodge, 390 South Street. Reservations are required.
