Sullivan West ascends Cloud Nine for third straight time with win over relentless Bears

KINGSTON, NY - In the end, the much anticipated “Delirium in Dietz Stadium,” the Class C title rematch between Sullivan West and Tri-Valley, lived up to its billing. Though Sullivan West emerged as the 48-27 victors, Tri-Valley fought like demons. The Bears, who had earmarked a victory in this game as their goal for the season, turned a 28-7 third-quarter deficit into a pitched battle and fought back to within one touchdown of tying it up, twice.

The razor’s edge

KINGSTON, NY - In the course of our lives, we make key split-second decisions, some of which may have life-altering consequences.

While perfection is a hallmark of saints and angels, mortals are fallible and our decisions don’t always pan out.

Eldred’s outstanding quarterback Nick McCormick experienced that painful reality when his split-second decision to throw a pass with a minute left in the Class D title game delivered the victory into the hands of Chester.

Section Nine Cross-Country Championships

Bound for states

BEAR MOUNTAIN, NY - Running is a very personal venture. Above all else, runners want to feel a sense of personal improvement of their own times and performances.

That said, it is also a team endeavor and the hard work and grueling practices that runners have put in materialized at this year’s Section Nine meet held on November 3. It was a race that would be the season’s last run for most runners and a chance to advance to the states for the section’s elite harriers.
