WEDCO has a new executive

HONESDALE, PA - Mary Beth Wood has been appointed the new executive director of the Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO).

Wood, a Honesdale resident, has been working for the agency since 2001 as a project manager, and more recently as the assistant executive director.

Wood is replacing Robert Suhosky, who retired from his position a few months ago.

“Initially, she (Wood) coordinated membership activities and the PA Business Retention and Expansion Program and is currently managing various marketing, business development and workforce development activities,” said WEDCO Board President Alfred J. Howell.

She is involved with most of WEDCO’s projects, including the development of Sterling Business Park, he said.

Wood is a graduate of Dickinson College where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

WEDCO is a non-profit corporation comprised of local businesses, and partners with state, county and municipal governments to work toward the economic advancement of Wayne County communities.
