JAMES LUKE DAVIS
SHOHOLA TOWNSHIP, PA James Luke Davis died at home on Saturday, October 28, 2006. He was 61.
The son of Arthur and Elizabeth Jenkins Davis, he was born in Callicoon, NY on September 23, 1945.
Davis was the owner-operator of J.L. Davis, Inc., a school bus contractor for Wallenpaupack School District. He retired from PennDot as assistant superintendent for Pike and Wayne counties, after working his way up from a laborer. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve McKean David; two sons, Rick Davis of Shohola, and Slade Davis of Scranton; two grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur Davis of Florida, Richard Davis of Easton, and William David of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Mary Davis of Stroudsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford with the Reverend Philip Pieros officiating.
EDNA G. DOLLARD
LAKE ARIEL, PA Edna G. Dollard, a resident of Beach Lake, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Clifford and Florence Bennett Cummins, she was born on July 19, 1917 in North Bergen, NJ.
Dollard was a retired beautician and longtime area resident. She was a member of the Tusten Seniors Club.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Dollard, and his wife Grace Marie of Boonton, NJ; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sister, Harriet Moscviack; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Dollard; her son, Michael Dollard; and three brothers, Raymond, Clifford and Patrick.
Services were held Saturday, October 28 at St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church in Beach Lake with the Reverend Joseph Kutch officiating.
Interment is at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Cemetery in Narrowsburg, NY.
GERALDINE F. FOY
SPARROWBUSH, NYGeraldine F. Foy died Sunday, October 22. She was 79.
The daughter of the late John Fitz Maurice and the late Edith Persen FitzGerald, she was born on January 18, 1927 in New York City.
Foy was a devoted mother, a Mets fan and a lover of animals and nature. She grew up in Brooklyn and attended Barnard College and Kathryn Gibbs. She worked for Bristol Myers before traveling to Paris, where she worked for the Supreme Headquarters for the Allied Powers in Europe. Afterward, she worked for the United Nations in New York and later took a position as an accountant for Omega Dental Studios in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.
A family statement read: Mrs. Foy, who loved her family and her home above all else, said toward the end of her life that the three most important things were to love and to be loved, to be kind and compassionate, and to be honest. Dear Mom, it is hard to say good-bye.
She is survived by her son, John F. Foy and wife Majo of New York City; her daughters, Penelope B. Sciortino and husband Angelo of West Islip, and Jennifer F. Schalhoub and husband Paul of Little Ferry, NJ; a sister, Patricia McWilliams and husband John of Sparrowbush; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John C. W. Foy.
Services will be private at the family home.
Memorial contributions may be made to any animal organization of the donors choice.
MARY ESTHER MANN
MONTICELLO, NYMary Ester Mann died on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at home. She was 69.
The daughter of William and Bertha DeGroat DeGraw, she was born on April 5, 1937 in Spring Valley.
Mann was a homemaker. A family statement read: She was a good wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed and forever loved.
She is survived by four children, Richard Mann and his wife Jody of Lumberland, Angela Tester of Monticello, Lawrence Mann and his wife Berry of Cuddebackville and Lucas Mann and his wife Andrea of Bloomingburg; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence C. Mann; and her brother, Elmer DeGraw.
Services were held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Wurtsboro.
Interment is at Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.

JOHN ONEILL
GLEN SPEY, NYJohn ONeill, a longtime area resident, died at home on Saturday, October 28, 2006. He was 71.
The son of the late Bernard and Alice Jones ONeill, he was born on June 25, 1935 in New York City.
ONeill was a retired director of transportation for Occupations, Inc. in Middletown. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pond Eddy and a charter member of the Lumberland Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and was a member of the Cochecton American Legion. He was also a former councilman for the Town of Lumberland.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Roberts ONeill, at home; one son, John ONeill of Wappingers Falls, four daughters, Kathleen Cheshire and her husband George of Port Jervis, Pamela St. Pierre of Swansea, MA, Carol Ann Phillips and her husband Christopher of Swansea, and Jennifer Last and her husband Ronald of Derry, NH; three brothers, Bernard and Charles ONeill of the Bronx, and Michael ONeill of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Peter.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pond Eddy. The Reverend Anthony Moore will officiate.
Interment will be at St, Anthonys Cemetery in Eldred.
GEORGE REITH PORTER
MAYFIELD, NY George Reith Porter, a resident of Narrowsburg, NY, died Wednesday, October 25.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Porter of Southbury, CT; two sisters, Marie Seeger of Woodbury, CT and Jeanne Borowski of West Palm Beach, FL; two brothers, William B. Porter III of Hopewell Junction, NY and Carl A. Porter of Clarks Summit, PA; and eight nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, October 30 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Narrowsburg with the Reverend William Scully, OFM officiating.
PATRICIA C. TUCKER
YULAN, NY Patricia C. Tucker died at home on Tuesday, October 24, 2006. She was 77.
The daughter of the late Terrance and Eva McKeever, she was born on September 7, 1929 in New York City.
Tucker was a retired supervisor of Grolier Enterprises and a longtime area resident. She was a member of St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church in Yulan and also attended St. Anns Roman Catholic Church in Shohola, PA. She was a member of the Eldred Seniors and the AARP.
A family statement read: Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three sons, Kevin OConnor of Yulan, Richard Tucker and his wife Jean of Honesdale, PA and Glenn Tucker of Honesdale; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Alexander OConnor, and husband Noel L. Tucker; her son Michael OConnor Tucker; three sisters, Rosemary Nolan, Ellen Moser and Ruth McKeever; and two brothers, Terrance McKeever, and Paul McKeever.
Services were held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at the St. Anns Roman Catholic Church in Shohola with the Reverend Thomas Major officiating.
Interment is at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty, NY.
