Basket Landing brings folk to Tusten

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance will present the musical group Basket Landing at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5 at the Tusten Theatre, 210 Bridge Street. A young and extraordinary Hankins-based folk and bluegrass group, Basket Landing performs a unique blend of traditional musical genres including sweet Appalachian folk ballads, fun-loving Irish songs, British seafaring tunes, Ozark Mountain bluegrass and vibrant spirituals.

The youthful group has five members: Joan Stein, the group’s leader, (lead vocalist, guitar); Nate Zaur, lead instrumentalist, (tenor vocals, guitar, banjo, string bass and piano); and three teenagers: John Powers (mandolin, backup vocals); Amy Smith (banjo, backup vocals); and Kevin Anderson (bass guitar, hand drums).

Basket Landing will perform songs from their first CD, “My Old Mountain Home.” At intermission, the East Ridge Folk dancers will perform a Ukrainian dance.
