Have your attic treasures appraised
BETHANY, PA The Bethany Historical Society will hold a Bethany Antiques Road Show at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 at the Bethany Methodist Church, about two miles north of Honesdale on Route 670. Richard Axtell, noted appraiser and owner of Axtell Antiques in Deposit, NY, will appraise items for a contribution of $5 each (maximum of four items).
In the antique business for over 36 years, Axtell has performed appraisals for The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, The Henry Francis DuPont Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE, the Fraunces Tavern and Abigail Adams Smith Museums in New York City, and for such celebrities as Irving Berlin. He has received awards for historical preservation from New York historical agencies and is president of the Deposit Community Historical Society.
The October 21st Antiques Appraisal is the final event for the Bethany Historical Societys 2006 program season.
