GENE D. MARTIN
LYNN CREEK, MO Gene D. Martin, a lifelong resident of Sparrowbush, NY, died Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the home of his son in Lynn Creek. He was 83.
The son of the late Albert and Jennie Masten Martin, Gene was born on December 19, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY.
Martin was a retired assembler for Channel Master Electronics in Ellenville, NY. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army and a member of Roosa-Fleming VFW Post #161 in Port Jervis, NY and a member of their Color Guard.
He is survived by his two sons, Donald Martin and his wife Debra of Ash Flat, AR, and William Martin and his wife Susan of Lynn Creek; one daughter, Alberta Kroeger and her husband Daniel of Matamoras, PA; several grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Dugay Martin; and one grandson.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Interment will be at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, NY.

JANICE GABEL MASTRO
CALLICOON, NY Janice Gabel Mastro, a lifetime resident of Callicoon, died on Sunday, October 8, 2006. She was 44.
The daughter of Joan Stratton Gabel and the late Leonard Gabel Sr., Janice was born March 9, 1962 in Liberty.
Mastro was a kitchen staff worker at the Villa Roma Hotel.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Stratton Gabel; her husband, Dan Mastro; two daughters, Amber Rae Benson and her husband Tim of Callicoon, and Danielle Mastro at home; three sisters, Gail Gabel of Callicoon, Marie Wingert and her companion Wayne Winters of Beach Lake, PA, and Carol Delaurencio and her husband Fred of Callicoon; one brother, Leonard Skip Gabel and his wife Denise of Callicoon; one granddaughter; four nephews; one niece; and several cousins.
Services were held Wednesday. October 11, 2006 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.
Interment is at the Bauernfeind Cemetery Beechwoods in Callicoon.

JANET TURNER MC WHORTER
GREENWOOD, SC Janet Turner McWhorter, formerly of Galilee, PA, died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at home. She was 69.
The daughter of the late John William and Amelia Kime Turner and the wife of the late Jim McWhorter, she was born June 1, 1937 in Honesdale, PA.
McWhorter was a graduate of Damascus High School and the Carbondale School of Cosmetology. She was the owner and operator of Janets New Image Hair Salon. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church and served on the SC Board of Cosmetology and she bred and showed world champion Pomeranians.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Erhardt of Hollywood, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, a son and her brother.
Services were held in Greenwood at Blyth Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main Street , Narrowsburg, NY.
Interment is at Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA.

TINA (LENNERT) MOHN
ELLENVILLE, NY Tina (Lennert) Mohn of Beach Lake, PA, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 38.
The daughter of Johnny and Phyllis Markle Lennert, she was born September 29, 1968 in Ellenville.
Mohn was an active member of the Beach Lake United Methodist Church. She graduated from Ellenville Central School District and from Sullivan County Community College.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Mohn at home; her son, Forrest Mohn, at home; two daughters, Hailey Mohn and Jenna Mohn, both at home; one brother, Dean Lennert of Simsbury, CT; two sisters, Susan Kingsley of Douglassville, PA, and Dorian Lennert of Ellenville; her parents of Ellenville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services were held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville.
Interment will be in Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.

CATHERINE KNAPP NORWOOD
COCHECTON, NY Catherine Knapp Norwood died at the age of 59.
The daughter of the late Grace Hewlett and Ralph Knapp, she was born in Loomis on May 1, 1947.
Norwood is survived by her daughters, Tammy Olsen of Swan Lake, and Catherine Conley and husband Daniel of Loris, SC; sisters Thelma Toby Barton of Cochecton, Penny Heinle and husband Doug of Cochecton Center, and Lori Knapp of Middletown; one sister-in-law, Patricia Yaple of Livingston Manor; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Royal James Porter; and a sister, Patty McAbier.
Cathy will be lovingly missed by her entire family.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 5, 2006 at Ramsays Funeral Home in Liberty.

JOAN C. (MONSEN) SEARLE
HONESDALE, PA Joan C. (Monsen) Searle, a resident of Rowland, formerly of Nutley, NJ, died on October 4, 2006 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 72.
Searle was a graduate of Keuka College in New York and a retired nurse from the Bloomfield Board of Education.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Williams and her husband Edward; two sons, C. Robert Searle and his wife Maureen, and Stephen J. Searle and his wife Jackie; a brother, Richard Monsen; seven grandchildren; and an exchange student, Randy Ruiz, who became part of her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles William Searle.
Services were held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Grace Episcopal Church in Nutley.

ROLLAND L. WILSON
HONESDALE, PA Rolland L. Wilson died on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was 79.
The son of the late Lloyd E. and Edna Lindsey Wilson, he was born in Cortlandt, NY.
Wilson was a retired carpenter and member of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale and former member of the Beach Lake Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Marie Baer; a son, Dana R. Wilson and wife Stephanie of Quakerstown; three daughters, Virginia J. Munger and husband Robert of Honesdale, Kay J. Hitty and husband Louis of Honesdale, and Julie I. Lyons and husband Allan of Beach Lake; ten grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Elwyn Wilson.
Services were held on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home in Honesdale.
Interment is at Glen Dyberry Cemetery in Honesdale.
