Laurel Villa hosts wine-tasting gala

MILFORD, PA — The Laurel Villa Country Inn & Restaurant will highlight the wine-making skills of stars in several different professions in its special “Celebrity Vineyards” wine-tasting gala on Friday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m.

“Francis Ford Coppola, Mario Andretti, Fess Parker, Greg Norman and Arnold Palmer are known the world over for their accomplishments in their fields,” said Janice Halsted, innkeeper at the Laurel Villa, “but each one also happens to own a vineyard that produces acclaimed wines.”

Three white wines will be presented during the evening: Francis Coppola Pinot Grigio and Mario Andretti Sauvignon Blanc, both from California, and Greg Norman Chardonnay from Australia. The two reds offered will be Arnold Palmer Cabernet and Fess Parker Frontier Red (a zinfandel, merlot, syrah blend), both from California. John Foley, of Capital Wines & Spirits, will present and describe each selection.

“Any of these wines would make a thoughtful and unusual gift for a hostess or for the holidays,” said Halsted. “This is an opportunity to try them all at once.”

Accompanying each wine will be hors d’oeuvres chosen and prepared by Chef Carl, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. All guests who choose to stay for dinner afterwards will receive 15 percent off their entree.

Reservations are required, and cost $25 per person. The restaurant is located at 2nd and Ann Streets.
