Rumba, swing and fox-trot at the museum

HURLEYVILLE, NY — A fall ballroom dance at the Sullivan County Museum will take place on Sunday, October 15, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Norton and Agi Hyman will present a complimentary dance lesson, and light refreshments will be served.

Interest in ballroom dancing has been growing recently, spurred by recent television programs, and locally the classes offered by the Hymans have encouraged dancing among such diverse groups as senior citizens and high school students. The music at the museum will feature all the standard ballroom dances with emphasis on the fox-trot, waltz, swing, cha-cha and rumba. All are encouraged to come regardless of their experience.

Admission is $15 for couples, $8 singles and $3 for students. Two other dances are scheduled in 2006 on Sunday, November 12 and Sunday, December 10.
