Landscape tour at Grey Towers
MILFORD, PA Grey Towers horticulturist Elizabeth Hawke will provide an inside look at how plants, trees, buildings and other features were incorporated into the landscape design of the 1886 French-Chateauesque mansion of Grey Towers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
Interesting features include an outside dining table filled with water, turkeys made of lead and towering trees with leaves that turn copper in the fall. Grey Towers, donated to the public in 1963, currently is administered by the USDA Forest Service as a museum, education and conference center.
This special landscape tour differs from regular public tours in that the entire program will be focused on the exterior grounds of the estate. Group size is limited and pre-registration is suggested. Regular tour fees apply.
