‘Little Miss Sunshine’ featured at CineArt in Callicoon

CALLICOON, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater present the independent comedy “Little Miss Sunshine,” starring Toni Collette and Greg Kinnear, as part of the CineArt film series, from October 11 through 15.

“Little Miss Sunshine” (R), which premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, follows a dysfunctional family as they hit the road for California in an old VW bus to enter seven-year-old Olive in a beauty pageant.

Rolling Stone called it “a scrappy human comedy that takes an honest path to laughs and is twice as funny and touching for it… It’s ‘National Lampoon’s Family Vacation’ with soul,” and the Chicago Tribune said it is “…funny, and thoughtful, and deeply, viscerally satisfying.”

Screen times are 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11 and Thursday, October 12, 2:00 and 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 14 and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15. Admission costs $7.00.

A percentage of the profits and $1 per ticket benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the arts council for Sullivan County.
