School unions to hold fifth annual scholarship golf tourney

SWAN LAKE, NY - For the fifth consecutive year, the Western Sullivan United Teachers and School Related Personnel (WSUT&SRP) will be sponsoring a golf tournament at Swan Lake Resorts and Country Club. The date is October 1 at 1:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the tournament will be postponed until the spring. All proceeds will benefit the WSUT&SRP scholarship fund for students continuing their education. Last year, $8,000 in scholarships was awarded at graduation.

The scholarship committee is asking area businesses to consider sponsoring one of the golf’s 18 holes. For a donation of $25, $50 or $100 dollars, a sign advertising a donor’s business as a bronze, silver or gold sponsor will be placed at the tee box.

Donations need to be sent in by September 30. The WSUT & SRP committee hopes the community will come out in force for a day of golf, barbecue, prizes, raffles and, most importantly, a good time.
